Investigation of the architecture of Dar Al Yahya

Dar ALYahya is the last remaining house in the village of Al-Tantura, which was abandoned in 1948, and it is the only one that has remained without demolition to this day. It is considered evidence of the community urbanization of the old village of Tantora, and it is one of the largest and most famous houses due to its unique location and design. It is noteworthy that a plaque hung on one of the house's walls indicating the owner and the year of construction was the reason for keeping the building until now, which stated the antiquity of the building and its symbolism at that time.

The Office|Architects team is leading an investigation into the house's architecture, design, internal spatial distribution, and materials used in construction and finishing. This investigation aims to document Palestinian collective practices in architecture during the pre-Nakba period. This documentation is based on documents, references, and visual materials available about the house and witnesses reporting the events and life practices of that period.

دار اليحيى، هي آخر ما تبقى من دور قرية الطنطورة المهجرة عام 1948، وهي الوحيدة التي بقيت بدون هدم حتى يومنا هذا. تعتبر دليلاً على العمارة المجتمعية لقرية الطنطورة القديمة وهي أحد أكبر البيوت وأكثرها شهرة نظراً لموقعها وتصميمها الفريد. يُذكر بأن لوحة علقت على أحد جدران الدار تشير إلى المالك وسنة البناء كانت السبب في الإبقاء على المبنى حتى الآن، والتي أعطت دلالة على أثرية البناء ورمزيته في حينه

يقود فريق المكتب| معماريون تحقيقًا حول عمارة الدار وتصميمها والتوزيع الفراغي الداخلي والمواد التي استخدمت في البناء والتشطيب. يهدف هذا التحقيق إلى توثيق الممارسات المجتمعية الفلسطينية في العمارة خلال فترة ما قبل النكبة. هذا التوثيق قائم على المستندات والمراجع والمواد البصرية المتوفرة حول الدار والشهود الناقلين للأحداث والممارسات الحياتية عن تلك الفترة
